April 2009 - Cherrywood Vest Challenge at MQX
When a friend of Cherrywood, Gayle Wallace, asked us to sponsor a vest challenge for the Machine Quilters Exposition, we were delighted! This competition is open to anyone regardless of your experience or geographical location. The rules are pretty wide open, as long as all the fabric on the outside of the vest is Cherrywood hand-dyed fabric. Let's see what you can do and have a good showing for this! I have seen your talents in our booth at the quilt shows and you are ready!

November 2008 - Bernina Fashion Show, Houston Quilt Festival
Cherrywood was a sponsor again this year for the Bernina Fashion Show which is a venue for the top designers to show off their talents in over-the-top garments that light up the runway. We have always enjoyed seeing what designers do with our fabrics, and this year was no different. Gilbert Muniz was inspired by our new hand-dyed Corduroy to come up with a tailored gown titled "Rumors." The flowers on the skirt are Cherrywood cotton. Well done, Gilbert! Keep pushing the envelope and keep using Cherrywood Fabrics!

October 2008 - PIQF Style Show Features Cherrywood
A large group of wearable artists and quilters gathered for a fun evening of style and inspiration at the Pacific International Quilt Festival in Santa Clara, California. Several designers showed garments ranging from vests to gowns. Cherrywood was the "main event" and showed 12 garments featuring hand-dyed suede look cotton, rayon and corduroy. The events was organized by Karen Boutte, designer. Attendees got to visit with the designers and models after the show and get more information about patterns and kits. We had a great interest in our kits the next day in our booth! Thank you all for coming!

August 2008 - Cherry Rolls Introduced
Cherrywood Fabrics has launched a collection of 2 1/2 pre-cut strips called Cherry Rolls. There are three 8-step bundles combined in each roll for a total of 24 colors. There also 2 collections featuring our 4-step bundles which have 20 strips included. These rolls started when a customer came into our booth in Chicago and wanted "just a piece" of all our gradations because she couldn't decide which were her favorites! I don't remember her name, but I want to thank her for planting the seed which took root on our drive home and has now blossomed into this wonderful new product! We LOVE our customers!
Piping Hot Curves Features Cherrywood
Susan Cleveland has become nationally known for her award-winning quilts, great teaching style and bubbly personality. At Cherrywood, we also know her as a friend and fellow-Minnesotan. Her book, Piping Hot Curves, explains a great technique for adding piping into your quilts to give them that extra "zing!" Pharaoh's Eye is pictured on the cover (made from Renaissance), and Hidden Tikis (made from Carnival) is a larger quilt using the same block. We are so proud that Susan works with our fabric because she turns Cherrywood into show-stopping quilts!

November 2007 - QuiltersTV.com
Have you watched TV on the internet yet? There is all sorts of great programming at your fingertips at QuiltersTV.com. And its FREE! While we were at Houston, Karla shot a half-hour spot that is now running on Quilters Cafe. It is a general overview of our products and the color processes that Karla uses in designing the dyed gradations. Cindy Walter hosts as Karla shows many samples of fabric, garments and quilts. It was a great experience and we learned alot about what goes on behind the scenes of such a production. The show can be found at www.quilterstv.com under Quilt Channels, then Quilters Cafe.
July/August 2007 - Quiltmaker's Magazine
Jupiter Burning - The heavens have never been more lovely. Design contest winner Kelli Saffell can pinpoint the exact time when the idea for this quilt came together: a comet had broken into the gravity field of Jupiter, creating one of the most spectacular events ever observed by modern scientists. The design suggests a flaming orb. The bright rainbow colors sparkle against the dark blue background. Quiltmaker Magazine has a cutting guide on their website atwww.quiltmaker.com/webextras. Complete pattern in Quiltmaker July/August 2007. Kit is available.
September/October 2007 - Fons and Porter's Love of Quilting
