CARE AND WASHING
Our fabrics have a great reputation for their colorfastness when cared for properly. A chemical bond has occurred between fibers and dye molecules in the dyeing process, causing the colors to retain their strength through time and washings. However, some precautions should be taken to ensure that all unattached molecules have been removed. We've run them through two hot washes in a Synthrapol bath, but considering how saturated these fabrics are with color, it is entirely likely that some of those floating molecules need an additional rinse. We encourage you to prewash all of your Cherrywoods in a hot water wash with synthrapol, no chlorine products, followed by a check for any color in the rinse water. A second wash may be necessary. Two tablespoons of Synthrapol in the washload will give the wash a boost as well as helping to keep those released dyes from reattaching onto other fabrics. Use it with all of your cottons and rayons both before and after you've sewn them up.
